Hi there! We are Brian and Sarah. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us as prospective parents.

We first met through friends in college back in 2010. Brian invited Sarah to try out the school's rock climbing wall, and we became hooked on climbing. We began spending more and more time together, developing a great friendship first, which later became something more.

When Brian and I first became friends, his family often came up in conversation. I would hear him on the phone with his four siblings, always ending the calls with "Love you." I was so impressed and admired the obvious devotion he showed to his family, even as an 18-year-old college student. He has a special bond with each of his siblings and truly enjoys spending time with them, making memories, and reliving the best ones of their childhood. It has been a great joy of mine to see Brian create those bonds with my family as well, especially our little niece and nephew, who love their Uncle...

My wonderful wife, Sarah, is the strongest person I know. Going through infertility, a cancer diagnosis, surgeries, and chemo within the span of three years was an exceedingly challening series of hardships to face. She has handled all of this with incredible fortitude, never giving in each step of the way and always worrying more about how her condition affected those around her than she did for herself. I am so proud of her accomplishment of becoming cancer free, and I cannot think of a better role model a child could have in a mother.

One of Sarah's favorite activities is...

We moved from Virginia to New York in the summer of 2021. Our plan was always to live closer to our families, in NY and CT, when starting our family. We have really come to know and love our new town. As soon as we walked into our house, we wanted it to be our home. It has everything we wanted: enough space for the family to visit and kids to run around, a great kitchen for Sarah's cooking, a fireplace for cold winter nights, and a beautiful yard with lots of trees.

Though our house is in a more rural area, and we don't have many neighbors, the town center, schools, and parks...

We are both fortunate to have loving families with parents who have been married for over 30 years. Sarah has one older brother and sister-in-law, who have given us an adorable niece and nephew. We are the children's only aunt and uncle and take this responsibility very seriously (we spoil them lots!). Brian has truly become like a second son to Sarah's parents and has learned to lovingly tease and be teased, as is their way. Sarah's family lives a couple of hours away, but it is a perfect distance for an easy weekend drive.

Some of our favorite things to do are cooking, playing cards, watching sports, or getting outdoors for a hike. Really anything that brings us together with friends and family. We are always trying to stay active and love travel, where we explore new places (and of course, try new foods!).

At any given time, you can find us diving into a new fantasy book series or re-reading one of our old favorite stories. We were both fortunate enough to explore a wide range of activities and interests growing up, and we hope to provide the same opportunities to a child.

If chosen as adoptive parents, we plan to teach the child that there are many ways to love a child; the love of a mother willing to make a personal sacrifice for the well-being of her child and the love of adoptive parents in creating a family together.
